Feliz Navidad
So I am back this quite Christmas morning in the City, looking quite different with no market stalls, cars in the street or people walking around. I spent a great couple of days in the towns of Tepotzlan and Taxco and stopped in Cuernavaca just for the day. Tepotzlan was this amazing mountain town surrounded by hill resembling great ruins. I met this new age hippie Harris there that told me all about the gods and Qetzacotl and to be careful not to let them take all your energy when you visit the ruins. In light of my new knowlege I would like to make sure eveyone lives the next 4 years of their lives simply gloriously, because according to Harris the world is comeing to an end october 23, 2011! Consider yourselves warned. But seriously Tepotzlan was probably my favortie place so far not only because of the amazing location, but because I stayed with this incredibley generous family, of which the grandma is my favorite person in all of mexico. With her blue eyes she reminded me so much of my grandma, she was always trying to feed me and sneak me treats and I would bring her sweet rolls for the market and she would give me kisses...Ah Senorina Josephina, definetely my favorite. Also I got invited to their nephews Wedding, which came as a total suprise but was so fun to watch the mexican traditions such as dancing in circles, pushing people holding up the bride and the groom, trying to break the tie that there holding on to eachother with. Anyways there I was drunk on margaritas and kissing some random bride and groom thinking this is all very funny, but feeling pretty lucky. Cuernavaca is known as the city of eternal spring and the getaway to mostly rich mexicans, So i only stopped to have lunch but had an interesting chat with Dr Francisco about life in mexico and religion. Taxco is the center of silver in Meixco and like a Tuscan village with lots of winding cobblestone streets winding around whitewashed houses with red tiled roofs. The only thing is the little VW bugs that at first seem really cute are forever clogging up the streets making you want to walk far up into the hills. So thats what I did -For christmas eve I visited the Big Jesus up on the top of the mountain to wish him happy birthday and touch his toe for goodluck. Otherwise Christmas has just been another day and I miss everyone so much
Hope you are having a wonderful holiday.

Im having a bit of tummy problems so might slow down on the street meat but its just so darn tasty. Here is also some pics of the Zocalo or the downtown plaza. Its been great being able to take the metro in any direction for 20 cents, and I feel safe in general even going around sola. The pics arent that great but its the best i could do for my quick take the camera out of bag stealthy and take a shot without being noticed! oh and there in the wrong order..woops..welll tomorrow Im heading to some smaller towns in the mountains around the city because as much as I like it here I think I need a few days away from the smog and car alarms and sirens wailing all night....adios
Mexico City

So I guess the only way to describe mexico city is : LOCO. Every few blocks you walk the scenery is diferent, you can go from a quite beverly hills like neighbourhood like this one, with lots of luxury cars and pretty colonial houses. To crazy bustling streets where you can just stare for hours trying to figure out exactly how the traffic patterns are working. I never seem to get where I meant to go, but find things on the way that make it worthwile. Highlights so far have been getting my hair cut at a local beauty salon where the Chicas chatted me up for quite some time, having a killer meal of rice and beans after getting lost tryin to find the Diego Riveria museum with the super nice family and getting a liquado from this place below with the guys parrots chirping away in the background:

El Primer Dia
Well Im glad to say everything is okay because I was definetely a bit of a wreck the whole last week prior to departure. I cried saying goodbye to everyone and all the way to the gate. I was looking at my teary red eyes in the airport bathroom, planning an escape and thinking what the hell happened to that chica who just three years ago felt like she could go on travelling forever. Then I had a bit of a moment on the plane with this five year old kid. He was giving me this look like "lady pull yourself together where only flying to toronto, even im cool with it". Lousy kid, i gave him the ol pirate eye to wipe that smirk of his face, but then I was just laughing at myself. And then mexico city- arriving it all came back to me: the faces, the smells, the colors the crazy divers. I came to my hostel and just walked in all direction for a couple of hours. Oh yeah, Latin America, travelling-love of my life....Here we go again
